The Key To Having Victorious Christian Faith Part -1

Christian faith is one of the most powerful forces in the world. It provides individuals with the strength, hope, and courage they need to triumph over adversity and overcome the challenges of life. At the core of this faith are a few essential practices that empower believers to draw closer to God and find the inspiration they need to be victorious in every aspect of their lives.

For many Christians, prayer, studying Scriptures, and developing a personal relationship with God are the keys to building a triumphant faith. While they are essential, I want to go deeper into the action of having ultimate faith.  This is why in this post I want to explore the essence of Christian faith that empowers individuals to triumph over Satan, the adversary. I learned about them first from my father as a small child by example, and then later in detail from the renowned author and pastor Kenneth E. Hagin of Rema Bible Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Kenneth E. Hagin (now deceased) was one of the most influential Christian teachers of the modern era. Born in Texas in 1917, he began preaching as a teenager and went on to build a global ministry that touched millions of lives. Hagin’s teachings focused on the power of faith and the importance of developing a strong personal relationship with God.

Unlike the prosperity televangelists who center on money, He centered on living by God’s Word through faith. This is why his message has resonated with millions of people across the world, and his teachings continue to inspire people today.  They certainly did for me.  While he is not the only Bible paster and teacher I’ve learned from, His teachings laid the foundation for my having a deeper spiritual growth.

The “Why” Of Having Ultimate Faith

Prayer is one of the most critical aspects of a victorious Christian faith. According to Hagin, prayer is essential because it is a direct line of communication with God. When we pray, we are talking to God and opening ourselves up to His guidance, wisdom, and blessings. Prayer is a powerful force that can transform our lives and empower us to achieve our goals and overcome challenges.

When we pray only because we’re desperate or we need something, we lose out on the daily benefits of this ultimate gift. Let’s look at how we should pray according to the Bible:

1. Prayer Builds A Personal Relationship With God

Hagin believed that prayer was not just about asking for things but also about building a personal relationship with God. He encouraged his followers to spend time in prayer every day, whether it be through structured prayer or simply talking to God as they went about their daily lives. Hagin emphasized the importance of listening to God in prayer, listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and not just speaking our words.

2. Make It A Habit To Study The Scriptures

To build a victorious faith, we must also develop a habit of studying the Scriptures. According to Hagin, the Bible is the Word of God, and it contains the wisdom, guidance and power we need to overcome the adversary. Regular study of the Scripture helps us to deepen our understanding of God’s plan for us and gives us insights into how we can live our lives in accordance with His will.

Studying the Scripture can help us to build a victorious faith in several ways. Firstly, it helps us to develop a deeper understanding of who God is and what He wants for our lives. This understanding can give us the confidence and courage we need to face challenges and overcome obstacles. Secondly, studying the Scripture helps us to develop a better sense of our own identity. When we understand who we are in Christ or in relation to God, we are better equipped to navigate the challenges of life and build a fulfilling life.

3. Let The Holy Spirit Enlighten The Scriptures For You

Hagin’s approach to Bible study was unique. He believed that every passage of Scripture contained a message from God and that the Holy Spirit would reveal that message to us if we approached the Scripture with an open heart and a humble mind. Hagin taught his followers to meditate on the Word and to allow God to speak to them through the passages they studied.

Hagin believed that the most important aspect of our relationship with God is our faith in Him. He taught that faith is the key to unlocking the power of God in our lives. When we have faith, we are able to overcome obstacles and achieve our goals. Faith is the foundation of a victorious Christian faith that allows individuals to triumph over the adversary.  We need this faith for daily living and life purpose.

Practical Examples of Triumph

1. Joni Eareckson Tada

There are many examples of Christians who have triumphed over adversity by relying on these pillars of a victorious Christian faith. One such example is Joni Eareckson Tada. Tada became a quadriplegic after a diving accident when she was eighteen years old. Despite her injuries, Tada remained faithful to God and turned to Him for strength and comfort. She began a ministry that has touched the lives of millions and has become a source of hope and inspiration to those who have faced similar challenges.

1. Corrie Ten Boom

Another example is the story of Corrie Ten Boom, who was sent to a concentration camp during World War II for hiding Jews from the Nazis. Ten Boom spent months in the camp, enduring terrible conditions and watching as many of her fellow prisoners were killed. Despite the horrors she faced, Ten Boom remained faithful to God and relied on prayer and Scripture to give her the strength and hope she needed to persevere. After the war, she became a powerful voice for peace and reconciliation, using her experiences to inspire others to overcome hatred and fear.

Building a victorious Christian faith takes dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to be vulnerable to God’s guidance. Prayer, Scripture study, and a deep personal relationship with God are the pillars of this faith, and it is through these practices that we find the strength, hope, and courage we need to triumph over the adversary. As we follow Hagin’s teachings and examples such as Tada and Ten Boom, we can find the inspiration we need to grow in our faith and to build a triumphant life that glorifies God.

The Key To Having Victorious Christian Faith Part -2

As a Christian, maintaining a victorious faith can feel like a daunting task. The world is full of challenges and trials that can easily knock us down. However, with the help of God and a solid understanding of the principles that guide our faith, we can remain strong and overcome any obstacle that comes our way.

So, what are the most important principles to keep in mind when striving to maintain a successful and victorious Christian faith? Let’s take a closer look at some of the key elements that can help us stay strong and focused amidst the challenges of life.

1. Faith comes first

The foundation of a victorious faith is the act of faith itself. As Christians, we must ascribe to the belief that God is with us, and that He has a plan and purpose for our lives. We must trust in the promises of God that are found in scripture, and we must hold fast to our belief in the power of prayer.

One important scripture that speaks directly to the importance of faith is Hebrews 11:1 which says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” This scripture tells us that faith is not just a belief in what we can see, but a deep trust in what we cannot see.

When we choose to walk by faith, we invite the power of God to work in our lives. Our faith becomes a catalyst for God’s power and blessings, allowing us to experience victories that we could not achieve on our own. So, if you’re facing a difficult situation, try to remind yourself to place your faith in God, and trust that He will see you through.

2. Prayer is powerful

Along with faith, prayer is one of the most important and powerful tools a Christian has at their disposal. Prayer is our direct connection to God, and it is through prayer that we can access His guidance and wisdom.

Prayer can be used for many different purposes. We can use it to make requests, to give thanks, to confess our sins or to seek comfort and support. No matter the purpose of our prayer, one thing is certain: it has the power to move mountains.

One of the most inspiring examples of the power of prayer is found in the story of Daniel. In chapter six of the book of Daniel, we see that Daniel was a faithful man who refused to stop praying to God, even when it was forbidden by the king. As a result, he was thrown into the lion’s den. However, because of his steadfast faith and prayer, God protected him and he emerged unharmed. This story shows that no matter the obstacle we face, with prayer and faith, we can overcome it.

3. Surround yourself with a community of believers

Another important principle for maintaining a victorious Christian faith is to surround yourself with a community of believers. As Christian believers, we are called to fellowship with one another, and to encourage each other in the faith.

In Hebrews 10:24-25, we read, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” This scripture emphasizes the importance of surrounding ourselves with other believers, and how their encouragement and support can help us stay strong in the faith.

Being part of a community of believers can help us stay accountable, provide opportunities for us to be of service to others, and give us a sense of belonging. Whether it’s through a church, small group or other form of fellowship, make the effort to connect with other believers and build strong relationships that will help support you in your walk with Christ.

4. Live a life of obedience

As Christians, we are called to live a life of obedience to God’s commandments. While obedience may seem challenging at times, it’s important to remember that obedience is not a burden, but rather a blessing.

In John 14:15, Jesus says, “If you love me, keep my commands.” This scripture emphasizes the importance of obedience as an expression of our love for God. By living a life of obedience, we show our commitment to God’s plan for our lives, and we open ourselves up to receive His blessings.

Of course, living a life of obedience requires effort and action on our part. It means making choices that align with God’s will, even when it may be difficult or unpopular. However, by making the choice to live obediently, we invite God’s blessings into our lives, and we experience the joy and peace that comes from following His plan for us.

5. Persevere through trials

Finally, the fifth important principle for maintaining a victorious Christian faith is the principle of perseverance. As Christians, we are not immune to adversity or hardship, but we are called to remain steadfast in our faith, no matter what challenges we face.  Through the challenges of my life I use what I call “ultimate faith.”

If things look really bad and I feel fear, I look at what Jesus said in Luke 10:19. All evil comes from the enemy, Satan, and Jesus gave us power over Him.  This verse causes me to quickly shift to God’s protection with my complete faith in Him. I shift from my fear to faith in God.

Luke 10:19 (KJV) Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

James 1:2-4 says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

This scripture reminds us that trials can be a testing ground for our faith, and that if we remain committed to God through them, we will emerge stronger, more mature and complete. While trials may be difficult to bear, they can serve a valuable purpose in our spiritual growth. When we persevere through trials, we not only grow closer to God, but we also become a witness to others, showing them the strength and power of faith.

The Key To Victorious Christian Faith Conclusion

Maintaining a victorious Christian faith requires effort and intentionality. It requires a commitment to faith, an understanding of the power of prayer, a connection to a community of believers, a life of obedience, and the perseverance to overcome trials. By keeping these principles in mind, we can build a strong foundation for our spiritual lives, and experience the peace, joy and hope that come from a victorious faith in Jesus Christ.
