As Christians We’ve Survived and Are Still Here To Spread The Good News That We Don’t Have To Suffer, But Instead Give Our Burdens To Jesus Christ!
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Introduction Concerning Suffering
No matter what problems we suffer, God is bigger than each one and He’ll see us through in victory if we trust Him by faith.
If we say God doesn’t care and we refuse to trust God, then we shall have what we believe and what we say (Mark 11:23).
If you believe that He is or that He exists and that He will bless you, you will have what you believe and live abundantly in Christ. Don’t blame God. Trust Him! Believe that He is!
Why Are We Here, Just To Suffer?
Jesus already took the burdens of life for us when He died on the cross. He stands between us and the Father as our mediator so that we can pray to God and receive without guilt, anger, doubt, frustration or any feeling that feeds into anxiety and that will keep us from being thankful.
However, if we’re still carrying any of the burdens of life, we must symbolically cast the care of them out of our lives and give them to Jesus. We are free of them in Christ and we are free to go before the Father and pray, knowing that in Christ we have what we ask for in faith.
When we go before God in thankfulness we’re in obedience to His Word or spiritual laws. We are following His instructions, therefore we are guaranteed success. And He sustains us while we wait upon Him.
He will sustain us to hold on while our faith brings the manifestation of our need. The Holy Spirit will guide us and encourage us to trust God’s protection. This is also true for the provisions and material goods we need.
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
There are many internal and external aspects to our problems that we don’t understand or can see from a physical, emotional or intellectual level. God knows what they are and He will show us what they are.
Because of Jesus’ shed blood on the cross everything evil tied up in any problem or need is overcome for us so that we can enjoy victory. Whatever we need to see, the Holy Spirit will enlighten us, but only as we center upon God by faith and not the problem.
When we follow God’s wisdom and truth, we can overcome the temptation to use willpower and avoid the failure it brings. And we won’t feel deprived of the sins we’re no longer committing. This is because we exchange them with productive behaviors through Jesus Christ that create abundant life.
We won’t want to lose what only God can give by going back to old sins. When we put God’s word into action we can see the benefits of doing things scripturally. It’s a spiritual process that works because the scriptures yield their intended results once we act upon them according to God’s laws and principles.
It’s the same with God’s physical laws regarding electricity. They can’t be changed! When we try to go against the fundamental laws of electricity we could get zapped or we might die. God’s spiritual laws are the same; we can’t change them. We must operate within them the way God intended.
It’s God’s way or they don’t work! The scriptures will accomplish and prosper our lives in the ways they were intended to do. If you meditate in faith upon verses for healing the body, for example, healing will be accomplished where you need it. It’s that simple!
Suffering Doesn’t Glorify God
Suffering with illness, for instance, doesn’t glorify God. While God can use sickness to teach people something they may not have wanted to see otherwise, sickness and disease are not of God. This is why He provides healing through Jesus Christ. We don’t have to suffer bad health, and can instead enjoy good health. We are an empowered people in Christ!
We Can and Must Do All Things In Christ
In John 15:5 Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches; he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing.“ This verse is what separates the “positive thinkers” from the “Word thinkers.” One makes self the source, the other makes God the source. The positive thinker is self reliant, the Word thinker is Christ reliant. To be Christ reliant will keep us from using willpower and suppression.
If you’ve been taught that we must take on the burden of Jesus Christ and suffer with Him, I’ll explain further. First of all, Jesus isn’t suffering anymore. He was raised from the dead and is sitting at the right hand of the Father. He has taken His place in heaven as the “Head” of the “Body of Christ.”
The Body is every person who has received salvation in Christ and has made Him their Lord. We are together within the Body of Christ and each of us has an important function through our specific service and life purpose ordained by God.
When scripture says you’re a partaker of His suffering, it doesn’t mean that you should get whipped like Jesus did and be hung on a cross to bear the sins of the world.
What it means is that you’re to be a partaker of His suffering as a substitutionary work. This is true for every Christian. We substitute His suffering for ours, so that we don’t have to suffer.
1 Peter 4:13 “But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”
Because of Christ’s suffering, we are free. Take your freedom and liberty by faith!
Don’t Suffer In Silence! Look to Jesus!
