I began my Internet ministry in 1999 while I still had children at home and had more responsibilities. It was difficult at first, but I learned how to prioritize and to serve God Online successfully. It wasn’t easy then and it’s even harder now to get known on the Internet if one doesn’t already have a following, a huge advertising budget or a widely popular and worldly theme. However, over the years I developed a means of sharing the gospel in a way that fulfills a part of God’s call upon my life and I can help you do the same to fulfill your work in Christ against the difficulties that face you.
It’s difficult to express in words how exciting it is to do work that expresses the talents and experiences I’ve been given. Jesus makes it clear in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) that whatever we’ve been given we’re expected to make it grow or we’ll lose what we have. God has given you special talents and as you use them, they will develop into great tools to be used for the Gospel. If you don’t use them, they’ll be unused and perhaps lost!
With trial and error I found the best methods to serve God Online successfully by learning the Internet strategies for getting known. It was something I felt important to extend my purpose outside the realm of my personal location. It also helped me to refine the talents and gifts I was given by God to serve Him. So, if you’re not sure about God’s plan for your life, an Online presense is a means of beginning somewhere while you wait on God for His guidance.
How To Trust God For Your Life Purpose
Use the prayers of consecration and dedication to consecrate your life to God and to dedicate your life to living God’s will (the Word) and His will for your life. The steps below will help you understand what you need to do, but if you need more understanding, seek your pastor’s guidance or a spiritual leader who you believe can help you. I wrote a short study titled The Three Phases Of God’s Will that will better help you understand God’s will concerning His Word and your life.
- Be a Christian and practice it specifically for spiritual growth and life purpose
- Study The Word – begin with the New Testament in Ephesians
- Commit your life and will to God
- Ask for God’s will for your life by the prayer of consecration and dedication
- God will answer you. Listen to His still quiet voice within your heart. You might hear an audible voice but don’t look for sound, seek inner guidance by the Holy Spirit.
- Be cautious not to move quickly concerning what you hear from God. Move slow and check with God to make sure that you’re not following your will over His. Compare what you hear with the Holy Spirit.
When I first began seeking God’s guidance I read through the book of Ephesians many times and used many of the verses for confession concerning God’s will for my life and to better understand Christian-maturity in Christ. I also personalized the prayer Paul said for the church at Ephesians from Ephesians 3:14-20 and daily said that prayer trusting God for my life-purpose. Here is the prayer for you to personalize and pray.
A Prayer for the Ephesians:
Ephesians 3:14-20 14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[h] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Helpful Life Purpose Studies
I found the book, “Following God’s Plan For Your Life” by the late Pastor Kenneth E. Hagin very helpful for understanding what I needed to do, how to pray, how to know if I heard God speaking to me and so much more. It’s a great reference book that I still read through at times.
It gives great direction for new Christians or Christians new to the Word to live their life purpose. It also gives understanding about what the Bible says concerning God’s special plan for each of His children’s lives and how to accomplish that plan. Many years later I wrote a Bible study about the same subject. However, I was led to take a different direction to share the same information.
The study takes Christians on an exciting journey through Biblical times, proving that God not only created His children to live an exciting and fulfilled life of great purpose, but one that goes beyond what anyone can conceive for themselves.
