Seeking God’s Will To Grow In Christ
[adsenseyu2]
We all have a purpose or destiny in life, but before God can trust us for living our purpose in Him, we need to live the Word as we learn it. The more we learn, the closer to God we become.
I realize that many Christians are led to Christ and sometimes forgotten about. Christians don’t realize the responsibility to not just get people saved, but transformed in Christ. They need to lead them to God’s Word so that they won’t give up with God when problems or temptations come there way–and they will!
God has given us a means of overcoming sin and the temptation to sin through His Son, Jesus Christ, but without instruction it’s not always easy for busy Christians to live victoriously in Christ if they don’t know what to do. If you’re not sure why you need to get beyond just receiving salvation and never moving forward with God, the 3 reasons below will define God’s purpose for continuous Christian growth.
Reason No. 1 For Seeking God’s Will
The first purpose for living God’s Word (His will) is to be obedient to God. We’re told to study the Word to show ourselves approved. This is how we get to know God and understand what it means to make Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Once we begin living God’s Word, we’re ready to commit to living God’s will for our lives, known as life purpose or God-given destiny.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Reason No. 2 For Seeking God’s Will
We have to put away our old lives and live in the light of God’s Word because worldly values and actions will keep us from living God’s best. So if you’re a Christian, you have to make a choice to commit to God’s ways or your old ways. You need to become transformed according to Romans 12:2. This is a process all Christians must commit to which results in a continuous Christian growth.
Also, without knowing that we have forgiveness of sin, healing and great blessings, many Christians live defeated lives instead of victorious lives. We can’t become what we don’t know, so we need to transform our minds with the living Word of God (Romans 12:2).
Reason No. 3 For Seeking God’s Will
All Christians need to be equipped and always ready to share the Gospel to the lost. Sharing Jesus Christ is an expression of kingdom living. It’s a lifestyle and there are many ways in which we can share, but we each should know how to share Christ with those unsaved by testimony and with the Word.
Ephesians 4:17–19 17. Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. 19. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.
5 Simple Steps For Seeking God’s Word Successfully:
- read God’s Word
- act upon what you read as you learn it
- spend time in prayer and meditation
- praise, worship and thank God throughout your day-everyday
- Keep right with God by asking forgiveness when you sin-then receive it
- Keep company with Christians committed to living God’s Word
As you continue to spend time with God in the Word and alone time with Him in prayer your commitment to God’s ways will increase. Without this commitment you can never fulfill the life purpose God has waiting to give you. You cannot live life your own way and expect God to work with you. You have to work with God, HIS WAY!
There are many places in the Bible that teach us about God and how He regards us. I have a page with scripture for many subjects.
