Jesus Takes Our Burdens Part I

Jesus Takes Our BurdensYou can have answered prayer now!  This week I’m going to prepare you for answered prayer and next week I’m going to teach you how to have it whenever you pray.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:34 not to worry about tomorrow, but to think about today. It doesn’t mean that we can’t plan ahead for anything, but it does mean that instead of worrying about the future we should live peacefully in the moment.

Peace and joy are the opposites of anxiousness and they are of God, so Jesus is giving us an important instruction about how to exist within each moment of our lives to be blessed abundantly and to be a blessing.

Peace comes from having our needs met.  This is a condition of life that belongs to Christians, but many churches don’t teach how to pray and receive so that we have a constant flow and abundance for what we need.  But all we have to do is follow Jesus.  He gave Christians a command to do something very important that will keep God’s blessings flowing in their lives.

Matthew 11:29, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Jesus said that we can rest in Him.  When we’re in a state of rest, we’re at peace.  With peace comes joy and then thankfulness for being blessed.  We’re blessed because Jesus took our problems from us when He died on the cross, but He says that we must give our problems or needs to Him in Matthew 11:29.

Jesus saying in Matthew 11:28-30 that His yoke is easy and His burden is light is part of a larger passage in which Jesus tells all who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest. He isn’t speaking here of physical burdens. Rather, it was the heavy burden of the system of works that the Pharisees laid on the backs of the people that Jesus was offering to relieve.  But Jesus has given us a way to unburden ourselves today of our problems by willfully giving them to Him.  And He has unburdened us from the system of works which keeps Christians from having answered prayer.

We have a free will to choose to be unburdened and not live by works.  Jesus can’t forcefully take our problems from us, but if we give them to Him we will have peace because Jesus’ yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Matthew 11:30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

THIS IS THE END OF PART I OF THIS MESSAGE

Next week I’m going to show you how giving your burdens to Jesus Christ will open the door to answered prayer NOW!  I’m going to teach you how to pray and receive and how to loose and bind according to Jesus’ instruction the following week after that.

PART II, COMING NEXT WEEK:  Learn how to pray and receive NOW!

PART III, COMING IN TWO WEEKS:  Matthew 16:19 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Have a blessed week!
