Many people see God as the puppeteer who pulls the strings to our lives without care of compassion. Yet this image couldn’t be farther from the truth. He sees us as His children and desires the very best for each of us.

He even sacrificed His only Son on the cross for us. Look at what Hebrews 4:15 says about God and how He cares for us. Through Jesus Christ He became a man and experienced what we go through every day.

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Have you ever thought about the fact that Jesus sympathizes with you? The King James Version says He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities. God is not aloof, distant, and unconcerned, and He does not look at you through some clinical, cold eye. He is moved; He is touched!

Look at Isaiah 63:9 and think about what it’s saying about God and His people.

In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them and carried them all the days of old.

God suffers with you. He feels your pain and is sympathetic to what you’re going through. He loves and cares about YOU!

Look at what Jeremiah 31 has to say about God speaking about Israel as a person.

I earnestly remember him still; therefore My heart yearns for him. I will surely have mercy on him, says the LORD.

Now look at Psalm 145:8-9 concerning the heart of God:

The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.

God feels and sympathizes. He is moved and touched and afflicted as you walk through the difficulties of life. He understands. And He yearns to give you tender mercy.

That is the true and compassionate heart of God!  Learn more about the heart of God which is compassionate and loving by taking my study concerning the Triune Nature of God.  Most Christians don’t understand the separate functions of God through the Trinity and lose out on God’s love, compassion, guidance and inward leading for personal growth and leadership.  Take the study and grow in Him!
