Look To God’s Thoughts and Way For Living Successfully In Christ
God’s Thoughts Scripture
Isaiah 55:8-9 (ASV) 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
God’s thoughts and ways are spirit and life. They empower us to succeed. So as Christians it makes sense to think upon God’s Words (meditate) and speak them. When we do, our lives will be transformed to living productive lifestyles.
John 6:63 (KJV) 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Proverbs 18:21 and John 6:63 are the recipe for our success because they tell us that if we think and act like God we can go beyond human reasoning when we need to make decisions. Our actions won’t be based upon negative emotions (feelings) or flawed thinking, but upon God’s Word for wisdom. This means that Christians can live successfully by believing what God says, following Jesus and listening to the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
Be Led By God’s Thoughts and Not Man’s
It’s not wrong to be influenced by the thoughts and actions of others if they’re good for us, but we need to know what God has to say about what’s good or bad, what we can trust or not trust and who is sincere or a threat to our well-being. Looking to God thoughts first enables us to have a measure of what is scripturally good for us and what is not.
Centering upon God’s thoughts and ways will keep you centered upon the best influences and endeavors. God’s thoughts will not only make you greatly intelligent and wise about life, but they will lead you to great opportunities and sincere people.
This week, confess Isaiah 55:8-9 to look to God first when making important decisions or before you do something you’re not sure about. Prayerfully seek God’s Word on what you need to know and in time you’ll receive specific guidance for your life.
