Why Complaining Is Dangerous! Avoid It Always!

Jude 6 talks about people who grumble and complain:
These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.
The word complainer is from two Greek words joined together. Their meaning is very revealing about what a complainer is in God’s eyes. The first word means to blame, and the second word means your fate or lot in life. The point is that complainers blame someone else for their lot in life or dismal destiny. However God has made a way for Christians to rise upon complaining to experience, peace, joy and success.
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
If you’re a complainer and grumbler, you’re actually setting your destiny or the way your life will go. It is our words, actions and attitudes that actually create success or failure. But when we become complainers we set the tone for the way our lives will go, and at the same time, we’re dishonoring God, making it appear that He is causing our disappointment or failure.
Instead we should be making our lives a living testimony for those who are not saved. We should be living our Salvation, not down to life’s negative circumstances.
Complaining Is Dangerous
When Christians whine and complain, they are showing that they are “walking according to their own lust,” not according to God’s Spirit. This is not living our salvation, but living according to the negativity of the world.
We need to refrain from being complainers, but also we should stay away from people who do complain because if we’re not already, we will become like them.
Proverbs 22:24-25 says, Make no friendship with an angry man, and with a furious man do not go, lest you learn his ways and set a snare for your soul.
Their attitudes and mindsets will bleed off on you.
If you hang around with people who grumble and complain, their attitudes will bleed over into your way of thinking. And the last thing you want to be is a grumbler and complainer, especially when we have a God Who loves us unconditionally and blesses us daily.
It’s also true that it can be bad for your health according to an article from Stanford University. Go to Fast Company for a great article that shares Stanford’s findings on the subject. It shares many great suggestions about how to override complaining with specific actions. I’ve written a short article, The Inward Leading Of God that will empower you to change how you state negatives feeling positively.
