IS THERE IS A REWARD FOR CHRISTIAN OBEDIENCE?
YES, BUT IT’S IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THE OBEDIENT ATTITUDE.

While there is a reward for obedience, we should be obedient because we love and honor God first above everyone and all things.
For this discussion I’m going to center upon two verses. Please read Isaiah 1:19. God is speaking:
Isaiah 1:19 – “If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land.” Then read Deuteronomy 28:1 which precedes 13 verses that lists the blessings we will receive when we obey God. I read those verses regularly because they remind me of what belongs to me.
Deuteronomy 28:1 – “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.”
These are all incredible material blessings God promised us, but they are dependent upon our obedience to God’s Word. They are all a reward for obedience that we give Him and they belong to us because of Jesus Christ’s redemptive work on the cross (Heb. 9:15, Rom. 5:17).
Trusting God In All Things By Focusing Upon Him
We need to look at God’s blessings according to the Word. Sometimes Christians think that they can receive blessings by their works, rather than their obedience to God. But what we need to do is to put together obedience to God’s Word and Christ’s redemptive power.
We can only receive blessings because we trust God that He will bless us and because Christ made us good enough to receive them. There is nothing we can do on our own to be good enough to receive anything from God.
We need the attitude that in all things God comes first in our lives with faith that He will always take care of us and provide all our needs. It’s that simple! We can be blessed everyday by practicing our trust in God for what we need.
Study the Word and believe as you receive it. Take God’s promises by faith as you center upon Him and you will receive God’s great blessings of obedience that include your needs, good health, healing, soundness of mind, success, empowerment, financial growth and life fulfillment in Christ.
Rather than begging and asking God over and over to bless you, ask God for your specific needs and then remain in a state of thankfulness and you’ll learn how to trust God. Trusting God keeps you centered upon Him for what you need and it will extend your faith to know that when things go wrong you’ll immediately rely upon God to help you rather than worrying or or getting stressed.
I continue in that state today from when I began growing my faith over thirty years ago. When things go wrong, I always say the same thing, “God is taking care of me, I’m always blessed. I don’t have to worry about a thing.”
God will bless you with a reward for obedience too. His blessings may not always arrive on your timetable, but they will always arrive. Don’t be afraid to obey God (obeying His Word). Trust that whatever God asks of you from His Word and for you personally, it will always be worth doing with a Godly attitude of obedience and thankfulness.
Conclusion For The Reward For Obedience
Rather than thinking about your heavenly rewards, think about obeying God because you love Him and want to center upon Him first. This will make it easy to live God’s Word and it will keep you from doing good just to receive your blessings. Love God first and you’ll receive your reward for obedience over and over and over again!
