The Blessing Of Christian Divine Healing and How To Receive It
Introduction: Take Your Free Gift Of Biblical Healing
Jesus is the same today, yesterday and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
This article discusses Biblical divine healing, why you can have it, and how to receive it. Some people believe that although healing was administered by Jesus to Jews and Gentiles, it ended with His death and resurrection. According to the Bible, however, the ministry of Jesus continues through His people (John 14:12), therefore, Christian healing continues infinitely.
There are other people who believe in healing, but think that God isn’t inclined to heal everyone. This is erronious Biblical thinking. As a believer you were created for greatness. You are a part of a new nationality in Christ that doesn’t recognize skin color, background, education or race. Therefore, no matter who you are today or were in the past, you are entitled to the blessing of divine healing if you are saved.
Healing is just one of the many blessings of greatness that belong to you as long as you believe it exists. We can’t have what we don’t believe in regards to God’s promises. And we can only receive them in Christ. If you’re sick, you wish to pray for someone ill, or you wish to build faith for good health, please continue.
Be Assured Of Your Salvation
Receiving salvation entitles you to the blessing of divine healing today, tomorrow and for the rest of your life (Hebrews 13:8). This doesn’t mean that nonbelievers aren’t entitled to God’s gift of healing, but as I’ve said, whatever we can’t believe about God we can’t receive it because we need faith.
James 1:5-7 5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
It’s also scritpurally true that our faith is in Christ and not in ourselves. Whatever blessings we desire, we must go through Jesus Christ, our Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) to have them. So our faith is a spiritual process, not mental or emotional. John 4:24 says that we must worship God in spirit and in truth.
Biblical Healing Is Not Acknowledged By Some Christians or In Some Churches
If you’re sick, you may not realize that healing is a blessing given to you by the grace of God. I’ve alway been aware because my father shared His experiences of divine healing with me since I was very young. I believed Him without having doubt because I watched Him live that truth many times. When it comes to healing we need to focus on God and not the people who can’t believe that healing is one of our kingdom blessings.
Thankfully, I didn’t listen to the people who believed I was foolish to trust God with my health. I may not be here today writing this if I did. Over thirty years ago I trusted God to heal me of cancer. My children were small and I wanted to live for them. I focused completely on God’s promise for good health and healing until my doctor gave me a clean bill of health.
Trying God’s Word vs Doing God’s Word
Years ago when my children were small, I used the character of Yoda from the first Star Wars movie to teach them about “doing” rather than “trying.” I thought it might be a good analogy they could identify with to teach them about living scripture. It was an important lesson to help them understand that when it comes to the Bible, God expects us to live it and not try it as Yoda told his young student.
James 1:22-25, 22. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Trying to do something is merely testing the waters to see if something might work. When most people test scripture, they don’t put their whole heart into it as a scientist would, for example. A true scientist ensures that they have tested and understood every aspect of their experiment or theory to proof it’s truth.
Scientists are thorough in their research. They hold respect for the natural laws at work that cannot be changed. They have to learn them and work with them. There is no room for trying to change what God has created or set in motion in the natural. It’s the same with God’s Word in the spiritual realm. God’s spiritual laws cannot be changed. We need to learn them and work with them.
Indeed There Are Spiritual Laws To Follow!
It’s imperative to respect and follow God’s spiritual laws to accomplish His promises. There have been many scientists and academics present and future who have given their hearts to Christ. You can Google them by typing scientists who are Christians.
These individuals must respect both physcial and spiritual laws, but their beliefs aren’t proof of God’s existence from a spiritual perspective. God is spiritual, not physical. We can only believe by faith without seeing and it’s a personal experience. Our faith releases what we desire from God into our lives whether it be physical or spiritual. This leaves us with the option of focusing on scripture wholeheartedly on God’s terms.
Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
We lose out on God’s blessings by trying to change His spiritual laws to suit our narrative or because of preconceived beliefs based on the intellect. Scripture can’t be intellectualized!
Do You Wonder If God Exists?
Frankly trying to prove God’s existence when we’re sick wastes valuable time. All we should be doing is setting our hearts on what God’s says, believing Him and taking what belongs to us. If you’re severly ill right now and you don’t believe God will heal you, you can learn how to trust in God quickly and easily. But even if it takes you some time to trust God, He will sustain you while you wait upon Him.
The following are steps to take that will bless you to overcome fear, doubt and a lack of trust in God.
- First, it’s important to affirm and meditate on relevant scripture to your situation. Include healing verses and verses that prove God has blessed you with healing. Romans 12:2 tells us to do this because it transforms our lives to trust God for what we need. It yields great spiritual growth and faith.
- Next, pray and ask for healing, using the prayer of faith. Also Christians can join their faith with others for greater faith according to Matthew 18:19-20 in agreement. This is important if someone is a new Christian. Once you’ve prayed, trust God and refrain from continually complaining as God’s people did. They remained in the wilderness for 40 years or more because they refused to trust God and be thankful! Always be thankful and let God’s peace overtake your soul.
- If you are new to faith, work with doctors. Don’t think that your faith will be diminished by using the medical profession. They can help you get through a difficult time as you put your trust in God. See God as your healer working through your doctor.
Don’t Exasperate God! It Just Wastes Valuable Time!
1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast our cares upon Jesus because He cares for us. So let go of your worry and fear. If you sit back without taking action over your emotions, you won’t be blessed. Besides having faith that God is taking care of you, you must also act as if it’s so. Having this attitude will increase as you transform you life with scripture.
While Moses trusted God, the complaints of God’s people in the wilderness began to wear upon Him. He eventually became sick and tired of listening to the growing complaints of the people under his leadership. We risk God’s irritation with us when we incessantly complain about how we feel or our illnesses instead of thanking God for the blessing of divine healing.
Focus on the following 3 steps to prevent your mind from turning away from God’s truth. Meditate on each:
-
- study the Word
- apply the Word
- receive what the Word says you can have
What Moses Said To God in Numbers 11:10-11 About The Isrealites:
Don’t become insensitive to God as His people were when they were stranded in the desert.
10. Now Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, each man at the doorway of his tent; and the anger of the Lord was kindled greatly, and Moses was displeased.
11. So Moses said to the Lord, “Why have You been so hard on Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all this people on me?
God’s Anger With This Israelites Because Of Their Complaints In Numbers 11:1
1. And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
Their complaining was so severe that God accused the people of rejecting Him. They continued to voice their remorse for leaving Egypt. No wonder they couldn’t prosper and get to the Promised Land sooner. They rejected God’s will by complaining that He had led them astray.
Don’t Reject God!
When we complain about our circumstances, we’re saying that we don’t trust God. We’re also rejecting Him which means pushing Him out of our lives and keeping Him from blessing us. Unthankfulness is a barrier that prevents our kingdom blessings from manifesting.
Through all the emotional drama of the Israelites Moses chose to trust in God. He could have easily folded in the company of such negative people. We have the same type of people today. They can chip away at our faith until they break us down if we’re not strong in the Word. Choose your company wisely and continue to meditate in the Word. It could mean life or death!
Simply Trust God
God told His children in Numbers 11:23 that He can do anything! He told them to watch and they would see His words come true. Moses believed God. He did everything God asked him to do, even if he wasn’t sure about God’s instructions.
Moses trusted God as Abraham did. He did what God asked no matter what it meant to his personal comfort. God made an impact upon him, just as He should to our lives. Every time you question God’s love for you, remember the words God spoke from Numbers 11:23. Tell yourself, “God can do anything so I will watch and see His words come true.”
Conclusion: Be Quiet!
When you pray for healing or anything, spend quiet time with God and wait on Him for any guidance He may have for you. Keep in step with the Holy Spirit to hear from God. For instance, God may want you to pray and fast for more clarity or understanding. The more you listen to His guidance and act on what He says, the easier it is to hear His voice.
If you’re under professional care, don’t let it stop you from the transformation process for healing. Pray and remain open to God’s guidance, especially if the medical care you’re receiving is negative and not helpful. God may lead you to a doctor better suited to your needs. Whatever professional you choose for healing of emotional, mental, physical, or addiction issues, remain within the truth of God’s word. See God as your healer.
The best time to learn about divine healing is when you’re in good health, but even if you’ve received bad news, the simplicity of God’s Word can save you if you learn how to follow it. God will watch over us and keep us going in order to bring us to a positive conclusion through our Lord, Savior and Mediator, Jesus Christ.
Confess to yourself daily that God’s Word is alive and at work in you through the authority you have in Christ Jesus. Surrender your whole being to God daily in your trust of God and actions. With God in control of your life, you’ll experience rapid faith for divine healing.
