Biblical Meditation and Well-Being
I recently reviewed the book “The Biblical Path To Wellness – An Interactive Memoir” by Kaysha Sahai and loved it so much that I decided to use it as one of my reference books here on my healing site. Kaysha has so much to offer Christians from her life experience with the Word of God as well as her professional training and writing.
Kaysha’s teaching centers upon the scriptures, highlighting the love of God throughout to bring hope to those needing healing for spirit, body, soul and mind. Everyone has heard of the traditional meditations, but Kaysha teaches Biblical meditation. In most other types of meditation, the individual tunes into the “self” as the knower. In Biblical Meditation, the Christ-believer de-identifies with his or her own thoughts and seeks to commune with God (by contemplating on his Word) and by tuning into the mind that is in Christ Jesus.
Biblical meditation and well-being are aspects of Christian life that we should be experiencing. The Word tells us in Romans 10:17 that faith comes by hearing the Word, therefore, we need to get the Word into our hearts. We are also told that our bodies are the temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19). Kaysha’s book combines the reverence of the body toward God and meditation in the Word with correct breathing for inner well-being, good health and balance.
I highly recommend Kaysha’s book for Biblical Meditation and Well-being. I have included links to get familiar with her writing and her other book, “Metamorphosis: A Poetic Journey.”
