God promises good health and wellness in the Bible, but every Christian is responsible to do their part.

Because everyone has a free will, every believer must chose to obey the spiritual laws God gives us to be free of  health problems, sickness, disease and mental illness.

We can also be free to enjoy our healthiest weight when we’re not encumbered with a myriad of health issues and problems that sometimes lead us to emotional eating rather than eating to be healthy and satisfied.  These 7 tips will lead the way to this end.

Biblical Health Tip For Honoring Our Bodies

1. Respect Your Body As The Temple Of The Holy Spirit

As Christians we’re to be committed to honoring God with our bodies.  You can do this by following scripture that has to do with good health and well-being.  Please hover over the following verses and they’ll pop-up:  1 Corinthians 6:19-20

For good health and healing, honor God with your body.

How To Honor God With Your Body

Romans 12:1-2   1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:1-2 tells us that we must commit our bodies to God as a living sacrifice by not following or seeking worldly endeavors and lusts.  The way to ensure that you follow God and not the world is to become transformed by the renewing of your mind with God’s Word.  If you’re not sure what that means, see below.

Believers need to take care of their bodies, therefore, it’s important to eat healthy, exercise and not indulge in sins that make the body unclean.  However, if we become ill, we can look to God for healing (1 Peter 2:24).  And of course, we can ask forgiveness if we do sin so that we can go before God and receive.

In 1 Timothy 4:7-9, the Bible discusses physical fitness and exercise, but it takes believers beyond physical exercise to spiritual fitness.  Christians need inner strength and growth that can only come from centering upon God and living the Word.  Therefore, the second Biblical health tip is to become spiritually fit

2. What The Bible Says About Spiritual Fitness:

According to 1 Timothy 4:7-9  it’s Biblical to be physically fit, but spiritual fitness is more important.  Why?  Because spiritual fitness promises a reward now and eternally.

We can see the importance of good health and exercise enabling us to be of strong mind and body to study the Word and live it, but spiritual fitness leads us to a God centered lifestyle and eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Fitness Scripture

While salvation brings the greatest reward of salvation, the rewards in this life are many.  We can be at peace by giving our burdens to Jesus, We can have great and unspeakable joy and satisfaction because God takes care of all of our needs, and we can experience and share the love of God with others.  Please hover over on the following verses to read them:  Proverbs 14:30, Matthew 11:28-29, and Psalms 63:5.

How We Can Attain Spiritual Fitness

Believers need to organize their lives to study scripture and commit to practicing it!  It’s a great blessing to act on the Word as we learn it.  Blessings abound!  Therefore, when we set goals we’re empowered to achieve them and we have the strength to fly high on wings like eagles.  No matter what our age, we’ll walk and not faint!

Isaiah 40:29-31

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Biblical Health Tip For A Peaceful Heart

3. Achieve A Peaceful Heart

Sometimes problems can be so difficult for us to handle on our own that we need to give those burdens to Jesus.  When we feel tired of trying to achieve our goals or disappointed in our failures, Jesus will give us rest and new strength to attain victory!

Jesus gives the tired and worn out new strength to run their race and win!  We can win in life by flying high like eagles rather than stomped on and flattened by life’s problems and difficulties (Matthew 11:28-29).

A Peaceful Heart Keeps The Soul In Good Shape

You’re strong in Christ to achieve good health and your best weight no matter what your health and what you weigh today!  And you can do it in peace because a peaceful heart leads to a healthy body (Proverbs 14:30).

When you’re so in love with God, He’ll satisfy your soul more than your most favorite foods.  Therefore, your love and trust in God will give you great peace and joy, and no matter what you need to achieve, Jesus will hold you up as our Father in heaven sees to it that you have victory!  Please hover over Psalms 63:5 to read the verse.
