King Midas was granted a wish that everything he touched would turn to gold. However, without thinking his wish through a bit before making it, he ended up with a curse instead of a blessing because he couldn't even eat without his food turning to gold. Whatever he touched would be instantly turned to the bright gold metal he had desired with all his heart to possess in great abundance.

Did you know THAT God needs you to have financial abundance for the sake of the Gospel? He does, but not the way the world's system understands OBTAINING AND HAVING money! Others, make comments like, "I need lots of money because I'm not going to heaven broke" or "the more you give the more you'll receive because you'll receive a hundred fold return on your giving. Thi sis why many of these ministries are under government investigation for possibly violating nonprofit laws.
The only message I get from listening to many of these prosperity ministers is that we receive from God according to our works. We can't receive anything from God by works, because we receive from God through Jesus Christ only.
