A Nation Under Judgment
By Richard Capriola
Richard Capriola's A Nation Under Judgment takes the reader back in time when our Founding Father's developed our country's political policies from God's point of view. The underlying question it poses throughout is whether or not we are still a "nation under God." I was immediately attracted to this intriguing book because I have watched a vital country in the scheme of world leadership and power move away from God over the years of my life. Am I being too harsh, just getting older or intolerant of change? I couldn't wait to read Richard Capriola's book to help me put all of my questions, observations and experiences in perspective and I wasn't disappointed!
There is much scripture given throughout the book, insuring that the author is moving in God's direction rather editorializing his own view in order to help the reader clearly see the vast difference between how our nation began as a "nation under God" and what it has become. His writing style paints a complete historic picture of America and it's leadership from the inception of policy making which centered upon God's perspective to our current tolerance of policies created by large entities for self-centered purposes.
We are given historical facts about fallen people and countries which have led the world in times past. They boasted great wealth and influence, yet over time they became entities in which God could no longer tolerate or allow to continue. Eventually God's patience and tolerance must end and His judgement must be rendered. This is a startling truth that each American needs to consider about our country.
A Nation Under Judgment shares the profound realization that even our Founding Fathers expressed concern in their day that America was already far from adhering to "God's point of view." Although today we can see that it is still under the umbrella of God's patience, we must ask ourselves how long will this last? Those of us who are a part of America must ask ourselves this important question.
The book also covers subjects such as poverty, hunger, the environment, greed, child abuse, marriage, divorce and other important issues. The author's thorough writing on each topic not only educates the reader, but gives a clear picture of where we need to place our prayer efforts for revival and restoration of a country that was founded upon being a "nation under God."
I highly recommend A Nation Under Judgment to all men and women who desire to take a realistic look at America and gain a better understanding of it's direction as a nation which expresses God's point of view or a country on the brink of facing God's judgement.
