Financing The Gospel

Financing The Gospel

Helping to finance the Gospel is one of the responsibilities that we have as Christians to help save the lost. But it’s not easy when one has little money.  However, according to scripture your obedience to God including giving into the Gospel should actually prosper your financial growth and make you a greater financial blessing.  Learn how to let God help you do this in your life.  You need to realize that it’s your obedience and not your giving that prospers you.  Understanding this principle will cause your faith to expect financial increase.

God’s Formula For Giving:

God’s Wisdom + Financial Principles = Financial Growth

Financing The Gospel God’s Way

If you’re in a position where you don’t know how to make ends meet, then you must learn how to trust God for financial growth. He will guide and assist you to increase your money so that in time you will be financially blessed as well as a financial blessing.

God can’t rain money from the sky. He needs our financial support. But if Christians believe that it’s wrong to have money or they don’t believe God’s financial principles, God is not able to prosper them and in turn finance the Gospel through evangelism. He has entrusted evangelists, who He has ordained, to go into the world and preach the Gospel. They work daily in service to saving the lost. They are supported by the churches they represent from tithes and offerings.

We need to give offerings and tithes to our churches for ministry support and maintenance, and to help finance missions.  However, we’re also responsible to know the Word in order to receive guidance in our giving. I realize that some Christians don’t believe in giving tithes, so I won’t push that belief, but no one can deny that Christians need to study the Word.

What I will say about tithing is that whether you believe in tithes or just offerings, money is still needed to help churches fulfill an important part of their function, which is to support missions throughout the world.

MATTHEW 6:31 & 33 (NIV)

31 So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?”

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

God tells us in Matthew 6:25-34 not to worry about our needs because He will take care of us. All we need is to center upon God and He will take care of us.  One of the most important steps a Christian must take in their Christian walk is to learn how to trust in God and center upon Him before all things.  As they do, they make it possible for God to bless them with their financial needs abundantly and also help Him finance the Gospel with continued increase as their faith grows.   Read my Trust In God study to learn more about trusting God.

We should do what the Word says as we learn it. If God tells us to center upon Him with the result of being taken care of, then we should obey instead of worry. We must let Him take care of us if we’re going to obey the Word.  Then we can help to support God’s plans and pursuits.  We need to look at becoming financially strong as something God expects us to do.

God’s Financial Principles For Financial Growth and For Financing The Gospel

Become Educated In The Word About Giving

Proverbs 1:5-10

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.  8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. 9 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; 10 then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.

Proverbs 1:5-10 agrees with Matthew 6:33 and 34 about trusting in God and putting Him first. When we do Proverbs also mentions that we will become wise and have good health.  It also states that when we give a part of our money to God, He will see to it that our money will grow continually.

So now that we’ve established from God’s Word that we should not only believe God wants us to have money, but He also expects us to give Him his part of what we earn.  Proverbs is old testament, but there are verses in the New Testament that agree. I will give references to those verses below.

Financing The Gospel Should Prosper Your Money In A Great Way!

It’s one thing to tell you to give your money into the Gospel, but if you don’t know how to give according to scripture, you won’t be able to perpetuate your giving. When you give, God says your barns should be to overflowing. To be honest, this isn’t happening for most Christians today. This is because they’re not taught how to give money in a way that will prosper their lives and their money. Instead, many are told that when they give they will receive more money in return. This is what Christians are told by greedy ministers who obtain their money by means of the world’s system which is to lie, deceive, cheat and steal.

Unscrupulous ministries teach that if their congregations give generously, they will receive generously. But we should not give to receive. This is not God’s teaching for financing the Gospel or for taking care of His children. It’s just not scriptural. Christians need to learn the truth about their giving, about how to give and how to insure that God’s blessings will begin to flow in their lives, including financial blessings.

If you’d like to learn more about why God wants you to prosper financially and how to get His Word activated in your life to receive your blessings, I’ve organized all the information you need in my Money Growth Financial Library. You’ll find all the information you need to build a financial mentality from God’s point of view to do your part in financing the gospel through your church or favorite ministry in which you can trust.

It’s important to check into your church’s mission funding accountability or the ministries you support. My husband and I had once given missions support to a small church in our area. However, we kept on top of their accounting from month to month. We noticed one week that the missions fund was empty without any report of where it went. When we checked further we found that money had gone for a trip to Disney World in Florida for the pastor and his family. That was the last support we had given them.

This is not a story to keep you from giving. It’s a warning to be educated about where and how you give. Giving by emotion or because someone pushes you into it can be a waste of your money. You need to be sure that you give into a church that will deal honestly with your money in order for God to bless your giving. “Breaking The Sheep Mentality” Bible study will give you strength of mind to give to missions God’s way.
