How To Stand Strong In Faith To Live God’s Word and Will For Your Life

Equally Yoked In LifeAll Christians have been given a specific like purpose. Are you living yours? If not, know you know that you have one! God has something special waiting for you to do with the rest of your life and it doesn’t matter how old you are, what you’ve done or who you are. Many Christians want to serve God in a special way and have a special life, but there’s always that one element that stops them dead in their tracks–“what or who will I have to give up?”

When you ask that question, you are forcing yourself to choose whether you desire to serve the world or God. Maybe I can help. Let’s look at this from a Biblical point of view.

Equally Yoked In Life

Successfully living your life purpose takes work, but it’s great work! It’s the kind that brings great fulfillment because God is at the center of what you do. His ability gives you the ability to do all things in Christ, and you’ll be able to discern whether something is of God or counterfeit and of the devil.

However, God’s success can’t operate in you life if you’re not equally yoked (adverse to God’s Word) with those who are against God and His Word, which is His will.  We can talk with others and have some form of alliances with those not living Godly lives, but we need to join our partnerships with persons who center upon God’s Word.

2 Corinthians 6:14  14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

According to scripture, we’re not told to avoid people unequally yoked with us in Christ, but rather we shouldn’t form alliances with those who don’t regard Godly things as the center of their lives.

For instance, business alliances, marriages, friendships, partnerships in any endeavor and community affairs will not be equally yoked, causing dissension between the partners because of disagreeable beliefs. Luke 16:13 says that we cannot serve God and money or the world. But what if you are already unequally yoked out of ignorance to God’s Word?

First, remember that God loves you and those who you are unequally yoked with. If it’s a spouse, then you must follow what the Bible says and pray for them to be saved and most important be a loving example to share the love of God with them. If it’s a business partner or friend, use wisdom. If they are causing you great concern or trouble, pray and ask our Father for guidance and a way to legally get out of a business, or out of a friendship with the least amount of problems.  God will turn those problems into blessings for each of you.

Pray for the other person or persons to be blessed. God will show you the way by guidance of the Holy Spirit. Read the Word for guidance and in time your troubles will cease. Thank God daily for the Peace of Jesus Christ that goes beyond all understanding. Then pray for God to set you on the right path. It may take a little time, but Jesus will keep you safe with great joy. Last but not least, don’t be bitter. Remain strong in your beliefs as you take action, but always keep God’s love in your heart to not leave a bad testimony.
