SLAYING LIFE'S DRAGONS AND BEASTS
By Gary Lee Millner
Gary bares his heart in his book, Slaying Life's Dragons and Beasts. He clearly states the events of his life beginning from early childhood to a young adult that led to his seeking God and becoming a doer of the Word. A loner for most of his young life, I believe that many men and women can identify with his story and the hardships that brought him to the realization that he was must either change or suffer an early demise.
What most impressed me was Gary's triumph to overcome his addictions, which had almost taken his life. For Gary, like for so many, this lifestyle happened to him, rather than Gary cultivating it. Courageously, Gary chose to step forward with God to slay life's dragons and beasts instead of succumbing to the pitfalls of life. Now is is able to help others overcome substance abuse and addictions, depression, low self-esteem and other such issues that keep a person living the full life that belongs to us through Jesus Christ.
This clearly written book lays a strong foundation and step-by-step account of what Gary did to overcome the battles in his life that had kept him in bondage. But this isn't a book about Gary's life, it's a book of Christian guidance that can lead those struggling with life to a life fulfilled and free of oppression from whatever it is that is keeping them from attaining success.
The chapters in Slaying Life's Dragons and Beasts provide specific problems common to many, the battles associated with each, and the victory which can be achieved by using the scripture and prayers he provides for healing. He also offers a page at the end of the chapters for the reader to utilize and apply the text to their lives.
This is a valuable source of Christian guidance and healing as well as providing a means to overcome substance abuse and addictions which has so many persons bound and trapped within a life of destruction. Slaying Life's Dragons and Beasts gives a vivid picture of God's love, forgiveness and healing for all.
