As Christians we have a responsibility to live according to scripture rather than be dictated by the ways of the world.  Edward's commentary on forgiveness teaches that scripturally it must be taken beyond a quick apology or the asking of forgiveness without repentance. Many souls have been harmed in ways that can last a lifetime by extending forgiveness where it should not have been given, while others continue to live their lives without thought of the harm they commit because of ignorance concerning this Biblical law. If a person continues to bring harm to others without an inner conviction for change or the knowledge of repentance, Edward teaches that forgiveness will become a detriment rather than a blessing.    

Christians should always be ready to look beyond what they already know concerning the Bible in order to insure living their salvation to the fullest in Christ Jesus--even if it means replacing wrong thinking and behaviors that we were taught acceptable in the world with those that are scripturally correct.  Edward invites his readers to check His information with the Word in order to insure it's validity.
