About Us

Here's our personal story how and why we got involved in Christian mentoring:

Margaret made a decision years ago as a divorced single mom, in the midst of what seemed to be insurmountable problems, to use God's Word to overcome them.  Her father had taught her about faith as a child, however, most of her family background was negative.  Her church experience wasn't any better.  She was taught by church leaders that God only answers prayers if it's His will.

She decided to study the Bible in her early twenties to prove with her life that if God says He will answer all of our prayers and bless all of His children, then He meant it!  There was no way she was going to center her life around lies.  Armed with only God's truth, she set out to prove that God will answer all prayers as long as they based upon His principles which are found in The Bible, His instruction book for our lives.

As she began to center her life upon Christ, she met and married Jim Lukasik.  They began their life with many difficult challenges including finances, depression, and perhaps the worst, interfering relatives.  It didn't take long for them to realize that they were not prepared emotionally or spiritually for their circumstances.

Together they worked out a system to overcome their problems with God's help.  It was agreed that Margaret would stay home with the children while they were young, while Jim would go out of the home to earn their main income.  Margaret was to study the Bible and read Christian materials that lined up with Biblical scripture while the children were at school or taking naps.  At night, she would teach Jim what she had learned, while he shared his experiences of using God's Word in the work place.

Margaret documented their progress, and over time they developed faith for good health and healing, for Jim to develop his leadership abilities and move up in the business world, for Margaret to successfully develop her home writing business, and for the ability to daily overcome the issues of life using God's wisdom.

Jim quickly grew strong in faith and was able to show Christ to others in a place of employment that treated most of their employees with cruelty and indifferences.  Margaret also taught what she learned to their children by precept and example.

However, they eventually incurred a breakdown in their lives, leading to Jim being diagnosed as clinically depressed.  Although they had used faith to overcome the beginning stages of cervical cancer for Margaret and other physical problems that had come against them, the depression was a spiritual challenge for them both.  They came to an impasse with this growing problem that affected Jim's emotions and general health.  He had also taken medication for a few years, but the side effects were causing him many serious physical problems.  Margaret tried to help him with some success, but in general, she made his problem worse by not understanding his condition.  They went to psychological classes about depression and marriage counseling, but nothing made a permanent difference.

As this devastating illness escalated, they decided to attend Bible school at a well-known ministry.  Their studies helped them to examine their faith and knowledge of the Bible, and over the next couple of years they were able to enjoy some success over this insidious illness.   Together they believed for divine healing of the depression, and stood firm in faith --- even when Jim experienced set-backs from the stress of his work.

However, after more Biblical study from the Sure Foundation, a dynamic Christian Bible College and study center, they learned the missing ingredients to attack this difficult illness with God's Word for healing and they have enjoyed a consistent peace and joy ever since.

They both felt a sense of responsibility to God to share with Christians what they had learned to help them overcome their problems in a more timely manner than they were able to do.  So, in 1999 Margaret started Recipes For the Heart Christian Counsel.  Together she and Jim helped other Christians grow closer to God through their problems, and over time they renamed their service Victory Thru Christ because Jesus Christ is the source of all their success.

Margaret used the documented faith and prayer information she had written throughout their marriage and the experiences of other successful Christians to create the book, Recipes For The Heart.

Not long after, both she and Jim decided to enhance their counseling efforts with mentoring or coaching for greater success.  As the program developed, Margaret revised her book to add more valuable information and changed the title to "It Make Perfect Biblical Sense -- That You Can Have What You Say."

Today, both Jim and Margaret look forward to more growth and are always thankful as they watch God work successfully in the lives of His people.
